Based on Wave Edit, an open-source wavetable editor, OsirisEdit (Minimum requirement MacOS 10.15 and above) is a dedicated wavetable editor for the Modbap Modular Osiris wavetable oscillator eurorack module.
So, why did we bother creating a fork of an open-source wavetable editor application for Osiris? Osiris requires wavetables to be 32×32, 256 samples, 16bit, 44.1khz – arranged in 4 banks A-D. Thanks to Synthesis Technology’s efforts in initial development, WaveEdit has become a sort of defacto standard for the task of editing wavetables. There are many forks/modified versions of Wave Edit available for various use-cases and eurorack modules with various requirements. So, we chose to continue to build on it for our purposes.
Take look below at this OsirisEdit video walk-thru (starts at 16 minutes or so into the video) by Jeremy of Red Means Recording.
OsirisEdit allows for the creation, importing, modification, and exporting of wavetables specifically formatted for Osiris.
To make it easy for Osiris users to prepare their wavetables for Osiris, we’ve created a converter feature for OsirisEdit.
The converter feature opens a new window where the source and destination folders can be chosen along with all desired options from wavetable length to sample rate and bit depth before exporting to bank directories A, B, C, D. Settings are set to Osiris defaults but they can be adjusted as needed to allow the creation of wavetables with various settings for other usage scenarios as well.
**Osiris edit runs on Mac and Linux (minimum requirement MacOS Catalina version 10.15 and above).**
